Introducing our next GHWI Guest Designer!

We have a wonderful artist that was chosen as our new Get Hippity with {ippity} (GHWI) Guest Designer. I would like to introduce you to Elizabeth Hart.

Here’s a little about Elizabeth:
"I have been working with paper, ink, stamps and every embellishment imaginable for the last 12 years. What started out as a whim has turned into a happy hobby that has also allowed me to meet fabulous crafting friends. By day I teach AP US Government and Politics to 162 high school students and I adore everyone of them. My college-age daughter helped me establish my blog and my husband never complains about what I spend for the latest "must have." I especially love the stamp set I used for this card (The Simple Things) and if you look carefully you will see that the flower is really butterflies - very cool!”

This is Elizabeth’s contribution as GHWI Guest Designer. I love how she used the muli-colored inks. She really brought out the butterfly design for this {ippity} stamp set, The Simple Things.

Elizabeth’s name was drawn by Random.org, but this is the little charmer that she entered for GHWI Challenge #13.

Beth's Turn at Challenge #16

Good morning sweeties! Today it's my turn to inspire you for the current challenge using the prescribed sketch below...easey peasey - so let's go get inky!!!

I chose stamps from two Ippity sets, "Fabulous Girl" (which I just received and couldn't wait to get it all inky!), and "You Deserve," both of which you can find in Aletha's shop.

And, tada...my little inspiration piece...kind of CAS for me but I didn't want to drown out the cute stamps or the background paper...I think it worked well, don't you?

Hmmm, this card would seem to imply a shopping trip is definitely in order!!!

Challenge #16- Sketch Inspiration

Morning all! I hope you've had a good week and you're ready to welcome the weekend because we're almost there! Yay!

I've got another inspiration piece for you using the sketch for Challenge #16. The sketch is from Splitcoast Stampers. When you join us for this challenge, you can post your project in the Splitcoast gallery- just please make sure to include "SC349" in your keywords so your photo links to the sketch there.

And here's the card I made with the sketch. I think I was channeling Mary Engelbreit when I did this one!

This card uses the fantastic "Now and Always" ippity set. I've used this set several times in the past week in COMPLETELY different ways- I'm seriously lovin' it! The sentiment comes from "Quotes a'la Happy," another bright, fun set!

Welcome to March everyone. We have a GHWI Guest Designer for you today. I would like to introduce you to Dorothy Schultz. Dorothy was picked as the winner for GHWI Challenge #12.

A little about Dorothy:
I taught French for nearly 30 years, and retired 20 years ago. My husband I will celebrate our 55th anniversary in a few months. We have a son and daughter and 6 grandchildren. We have always loved to travel, and in 2000 sold our home to become full time RVers – a lifestyle we truly enjoyed. A year ago we decided it was time to settle down, so we bought a home in AZ, though we still travel a lot.
I am fairly new to crafting, and enjoy cross stitch as well as card making. I just started a blog, Cards by Dorothy, which I said I would never do. For me, it is simply an extension of my SCS gallery, so it is nothing fancy.

Take a look at Dorothy's creation:

You did a beautiful job, Dorothy. I love the colors you used and your layout is superb. Dorothy’s little piece of art was created with the “All things are Possible” {ippity} set.

Good morning all! Happy Friday... we all made it through the week though I have yet to understand how this could possibly be the final Friday of February! Next time I blink I'm pretty sure it'll be the week before Halloween!

Again, we're looking at "Music" for this challenge. You can go in any direction you'd like for this- cards, layouts, ATCs, altered art- whatever makes you happy! And while you don't have to use an Ippity or Unity stamp on your project, you'll get an extra entry into the prize drawing if you do and who doesn't want that?! Can you believe it?? It is the third week of February already. It seems like this year is going by quickly already. Then again the older I get the quicker they go!! :-)

Challenge No. 14 - COLOR

Hi Everyone and welcome to challenge no. 14. Yes, it is a fabulous color theme this time - inspired by Jessica over at Design Seeds - thank you so much Jessica for your awesome color talent!

If you have difficulty coordinating colors you will find all the help one could ever want in working with color over at Design Seeds (yes Louise, that most certainly includes moi, LOL)!

So, it's my turn to inspire and dazzle you (just kidding about the dazzle part - although it would be nice :D). OK, now what was I saying? Oh yes, we were waking up that sleepy muse of yours to get busy creating a fab project to enter in this challenge...come on - we all like winning prizes and you know the old saying, " you can't win if you don't play"!!! The clock is tick, tick, ticking - this challenge ends Saturday February 18, 2012 at 7 PM CST. And no excuses! You still have plenty of time to get a project cranked out.

The color theme we are working with this time is called "Macaw Hues" and it contains a beautiful colorway as you can see below.

We have our current GHWI Challenge #10 and #11 winner, Pam Loris, as our guest designer this week. Yep, she won twice in a row. Remember if you enter with a Unity or {ippity} stamp, you name gets counted twice.

Here’s a little about Pam:
"I have been crafting since I was a little girl. I do a little bit of everything! I got into stamping in 2003, and it was a slow start. Then I found scrapbooking around the same time, and did more of that. It was only about 3 years ago that I really got into stamping. And I love every minute of it! And I can also incorporate it into my scrapbooks! I found Unity stamps 2 years ago, and {ippity} 1 year ago. I love the quality, images, and versatility of their stamps! And will keep on 'collecting' them! The blogs are wonderful on the internet, and are amazing inspiration!"

Hi all - I'm Beth and today is my official debut as the newest member of the Design Team here at GHWI, and need I say that I am as happy as a kid in a candy store! Everyone here is so great and talented!

I have been visiting the entrants and I must say that you guys are fabulous! I am really impressed with all the creativity I am seeing!! But please, don't keep us a secret, share us with your friends, after all everyone likes to win prizes...right? right!

I am sharing my little piece of inspiration for our current challenge #13 - Hearts!! Yes that's right, hearts, hearts and more hearts, well, one heart would be enough but the more the merrier I always say but it's all up to you! For my inspiration card I decided to keep it clean and simple, something I am not accustomed to doing but I am actually quite happy with it! Who knew?! LOL

Happy Tuesday all!! I am already really enjoying all the wonderful projects posted above!!

I am here to share a little inspiration for our current challenge #13 - Hearts!! I made a couple different projects this time around. Sorry this post is so picture heavy I just wanted to share a few of my 3D Projects which are some of my favorite types of projects to make!!

For the first I used my new Silhoutte Cameo to cut out a box.

Here’s a little about Donna:
Hi, my name is Donna. I'm 43 and live in Sheffield with Wayne, my wonderful husband of 19 years. We have two grown up children, Samantha 24, Kyle 19 and my darling little grandson Bradley who is 3. I have two cats Saffie Ann and Ely Doodle. I am a cook/supervisor at a school, which I really enjoy. I have been paper crafting for 4 years and love scrapbooking and card making.

Here’s just a little taste of the talent that Donna is sharing with us. The card below is the one that she entered in our GHWI Challenge #9.

Happy first Friday for 2012! Are you ready for the weekend? I was on Facebook early this morning and I noticed that there were a lot of people who had to go back to work this week. Most of their comments were, “Will the weekend ever start?” Well, enjoy, it’s almost here!

To start my weekend, I have a few announcements about our Get Hippity with Ippity (GHWI) Design Team.

First one is we have added a sixth member to our already very talented team. Kristy Deyette has said yes and I look forward to working with her and seeing her little pieces of art using Ippity and Unity stamps. In fact, the project below is her first one as a GHWI Design Team Member. This is for our current Challenge #12. Don’t you just love the colors she used? Click here to look at all of Kristy’s other work.

The second announcement is that our GHWI Senior Design Team Member Melissa has volunteered to be our GHWI Group Coordinator over at The Crafter’s Café. I have worked, and have become very close friends, with Melissa over the past two years. She is going to be a God-send to me and our rapidly growing GHWI Group. Melissa’s going to keep things happening at The Crafter’s Café. Her project below is for our Challenge #12 also. Take a look at Melissa’s blog. You are going to be surprised at how many projects she has completed using Ippity and Unity stamps.

GHWI’s First Challenge for 2012

Welcome to 2012! Are you ready for Get Hippity with Ippity’s first challenge for the new year? We have been away too long!

This challenge is our No. 12, and we are going to start out with a bang and a new sketch. This is the sketch we would like for you to use:

This challenge starts today, and ends on January 14. You can flip it, but we do need to see the sketch somewhere in your little piece of art. We want to see cards, ATCs, scrapbook layouts, altered, mixed-media, anything your little heart tells you to do. You are not required to use an Ippity or Unity set, but if you do, your entry will be counted twice. You are required to follow our little blog. If you use Ippity or Unity stamps, please leave a comment letting us know what set you used. Please read the rules before participating. Your prize is an Ippity stamp set, your choice, from my GHWI Sales Blog. Please have fun! This is the most important thing you can do.

My project that I just finished uses the Ippity stamp set “Your Friendship.” You can find all the details for my project over at my blog.

I want to announce a few things for the beginning of 2012: First is that Melissa, our Senior Design Team Member, is now going to be our GHWI Group Coordinator over at The Crafter’s Café. Second, we have a new Design Team Member, Kristy Deyette. Kristy is our sixth member to come aboard. Congratulations to both of them. This is going to be an outstanding year for Get Hippity with Ippity.

The third item is at The Crafter’s Café, and in the GHWI group, we have started another “card” game for January. Tracey here. My sample for this challenge uses Gurnsey Gingham. The challenge is embossing. It's a little tough to see my embossing because I wanted to showcase this Ippity stamp. The embossing is on the trees in the background. The papers I used are Making Memories. This stamp is very versatile as it can be used for any background. I hope everyone has a beautiful Sunday!! I am very late in posting this, and it’s all my fault.

I want to introduce you to our GHWI Guest Designer, Kristina Deyette. Kristy was the GHWI Challenge #7 winner and she decided on the “Regal Greetings” Ippity stamp set as her prize. Take a look at her little piece of art. I love her layout and the way she has used the red and black. I love that background too.

Ok, so I never said that I was the sharpest tool in the shed. It's my first task as a DT member and I forgot to do this blog post. Aughhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! I drive myself nuts!!!!!!!!!!!! As my husband says when I do stuff like this, "ding dong"! I'm sorry everyone. I'm here now.
This is my little penguin guys I designed for Ippity by Unity last month in Myrtle Beach. He's
become sooooo popular so fast. I'm seeing him everywhere.

GHWI Guest Designer Lydia Walker

Lydia Walker was our winner for Challenge #5 Sketch. Due to me bungling up Lydia’s overseas mailing, I could not get her winning stamp set to her soon enough. She was still game and she has designed a very gorgeous greeting card with sets she already had. She did inform me that she received her Ippity stamp set yesterday. Guess what, Lydia…we all want to see your little pieces of art using your new set. ;)

Lydia has used “Music of my Heart” stamp set. The dragonflies came from “thankful for YOU” set and her butterflies are from a Unity Itty Bitty set “Dream Big.” She used all of my favorite sets too.

The First GHWI Guest Designer

Our very first GHWI Guest Designer is Jen Gerwin-Dively. Jen's blog, Jen's Unchartered Territory (love the title), has a lot of her other little pieces of art posted. Today, she has blessed us with some amazing creations. Without further ado...

“Hi all! Let me tell you what a thrill it is for me to be a guest designer here- a first! One of the things on my bucket list was to guest design... CHECK! Woo hoo!

We moved from NJ to NC a year ago for my hubby's engineering job. I spend much of my time keeping our 4yr old son moving in the right direction (or trying to!)

I've been crafting as long as I can remember. My mom made amazing Christmas ornaments when I was very young and I remember playing with the pins, beads and sequins, trying to "help her." I started paper crafting 10yrs ago when I met a Stampin' Up demonstrator and LOVED her demo. I limited myself to one or two sets and an ink pad. I mean, why would you really need more than that?! Seriously! Then I was pulled into a monthly stampers club and it was all over after that. I make cards and scrap pages of my son. Most of my layouts are 2 pages and have 10+ pictures across them. It's funny. When I saw the Challenge #7 sketch, I thought it was for a LO, not a card. I love the result but still, I'm not sure why I thought LO.

I only recently found Ippity and Unity stamps, but immediately loved the great imagery- anything from fun to funky to touching- and the fabulous quality of the stamps. I told myself I wouldn't buy any stamps this year at CKC and then found that Unity was there. Needless to say that I seriously boosted my stash of Itty Bittys that day!”

Happy Tuesday!! I just wanted to stop by and share a fun little card I made for our new challenge. Let me tell you Bling is definitely one of my favorite embellies!! I love sparkly things!!!

For this challenge, you can use bling, bows or buttons. You just need to use at least one of the 3 but feel free to use as many as you want!!!

I used the new release set - ALL things are POSSIBLE!!!

I just love this butterfly image. I think it is way cool how it's designed with the cancer awareness ribbon as it's body -- so many potential uses!!!

Welcome to our Get Hippity with {ippity} Challenge Blog and our{ippity}September release. We have some beautiful{ippity}stamp sets for you this time around.

First I want to challenge you with this sketch. We want to see whatever type of art you feel like creating. You can also flip, turn which way you want. We just need to be able to see the layout.

{ippity} and The Stamping Boutique

Welcome to the last day of the weekend! I finally got a little studio time the past two days (a little each day). When that happens, I count my blessings. I am finding out that running an online business means a lot of time on the computer. No complaints, really. I am totally enjoying selling the {ippity} brand and I am making new friends everyday.

For my project I have combined a digi stamp and a rubber stamp. I’m so happy when I can combine the two. These two images complimented each other completely. The digi is from The Stamping Boutique, titled Flowers-1. The {ippity} stamp set that I used is from the set “thankful for YOU.” The dragonflies fit perfect with Tracey’s illustration. I also wanted to invited you all to our Get Hippity with {ippity}, (or GHWI) group at The Crafter’s Café. The Simple Things

Today, I wanted to share my little project using the {ippity} stamp set The Simple Things. I am participating in two art festivals this fall and I thought I would get started on some clean and simple designs. These sale the best, especially if I sale them as a set.

The image was stamped with VersaMark ink on Cryogen 80# and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then used a sponge to add the Distress Inks in Peeled Pain and Worn Lipstick. The DP is from BasicGrey’s collection of “hello luscious.” The black pearls were added with a Viva Décor Pearl Pen (I love these pearl pens!).

I also wanted to share the links for two wonderful Get Hippity with Ippity groups. The first one is on The Crafter’s Café (formerly The Latte Lounge), Get Hippity with Ippity/Join the Unity Community. The second is a GHWI Yahoo group. We will welcome you with open arms to both groups.

In September we are opening up the Design Team blog as our Get Hippity with Ippity Challenge (GHWI) Blog. We will be having two challenges per month. They are scheduled for the first and third Mondays of each month. If you join one of the groups listed above, you will get a sneak peek two weeks before each challenge. Challenge #5, on September 5, is a sketch challenge.

I have spent the past few days cleaning and organizing my classroom for the upcoming school year and am finally done!! I still have to decorate and plan but at least phase one is done. Anyhow, I'm hoping to find some crafty time now that, that's done!!

Here's another card I made. This time I used the Unity Kit of the Month March 2011 set --

One thing I love the most about Ippity/Unity stamps are that for some reason they make me try new color palettes - softer ones. I tend to create in bright colors so much but for some reason these images always bring me back to pastels and such!!

New releases for {ippity}!

Yep, two new releases for the month of August! And, here they are…

This first one, Make Your Mark, will probably be one of my favorites. Below the stamp set is my creation that I completed with Make Your Mark and for the Get Hippity with {ippity} group Challenge #4. You can find all the details for my project here.

The second one is Loads of Love. This is so cute. I can think of “loads” of projects using this set. (Sorry, had to do it!)

Now, if you join our group GHWI at The Latte Lounge and participate in our Challenge #4, you have a chance to win one of these new sets, or a set from my {ippity} Sales Blog.

We have also started a Yahoo group, Get Hippity with {ippity}. You all are invited to join. I check for membership approvals two to three times a day. This little group was formed so we can have a “group” email. GHWI Challenge #4

It’s that time again for another Get Hippity with {ippity} challenge. No. 4 is easy peasy.

This time we are doing a COLOR COMBO. You are to use three or more colors that you see in the inspiration card. This project was created by Angie Blom, a designer with Unity Stamp Co. She was kind enough to grant us permission (I will keep that in mind for future reference, Angie!) to use her design. I picked this particular creation because of all the bright colors, and there are definitely more than three colors for you to choose from.
